Established demonstration unit FIRST TIME in INDIA of Plasma based hazardous waste destruction facility in collaboration with M/s. PEAT International, USA. Got approval from Central Pollution Control Board, New Delhi.

Supported by Gujarat Pollution Control Board, and Implemented by Plasma Energy Applied Technologies Ankleshwar Pvt. Ltd.

In the year 2006-2008, UNIDO, Vienna allotted Clean Technology assessment work to Jyoti Om Chemical Research Centre Pvt. Ltd., GIDC, Ankleshwar, Gujarat. The task was of studying pattern of hazardous waste generation, quantity and quality of waste and its disposal methods.

An important feature of this project (technology) is its ability to convert “waste into energy”. This is a waste destruction process. In this technology, hazardous waste is treated under very high temperature (1100-1200 °C) and in absence of oxygen to generate gaseous products, which has high energy potential.So, the process itself concludes that it’s a “Waste to energy conversion technology” and that to “CLEAN TECHNOLOGY”.The Plasma was generated using DC plasma.

4. Consolidation and final report, including recommendations for scaling up

Received Gujarat Cleaner Production Award for CP work at M/s. The Ankleshwar Poly Dyestuff Pvt. Ltd. on 5^th June, 2006 from Chief Minister Mr.NarendraModi.

Received contract from UNIDO, Vienna, for writing PDD and developing new methodology for sulphuric acid project.

Engaged in creating cluster base recycling unit of spent sulphuric acid to pure sulphuric acid.

UNIDO, VIENNA has also assigned work to find out alternative Air oxidation technology in place of nitric acid oxidation technology to reduce Green House gas emission.

•  Destruction of hazardous waste using Plasma Technology, PEAT International, USA.
•  Catalytic Air Oxidation in place of Nitric acid oxidation, M/S Buss Chem Tech AG, Switzerland.
•  CDM consultancy , BSS, Switzerland
•  Received contract from UNIDO, Vienna, for writing PDD and developing new methodology for Air Oxidation Technology.

The organization wrote two methodologies and Project Development Document (PDD) and submitted to UNFCCC. The working committee of UNFCCC approved the methodologies. They are for recovery of sulphuric acid from spent sulphuric acid and substitution of incineration with Plasma Technology.
